How health care workers handle substance abuse in AIDS patients
The first step health care providers must take before addressing the issue of substance abuse in AIDS patients is to look at their own attitudes regarding drug abuse, according to Joanna Rinaldi, coordinator of hospital services for the University of San Francisco AIDS Health Project and co-author of AIDS and Substance Abuse, a training manual for health care professionals.
