The Hotel Association of New York City (HANYC) endorses the proposed Freedom to Travel Act, a Congressional bill designed to provide tax deductions targeted expressly at the lodging, restaurant and entertainment industries in New York City. Introduced by Representatives Thomas Reynolds (R-Clarence-NY) and Carolyn Maloney (D-Manhattan, Queens-NY) the temporary recovery measure, aimed at attracting customers back to the travel industry, is a direct response to the national decline in tourism since September 11.
