After 50 years, it's still easy to love Lucy.
Amid an almost overwhelming barrage of publicity, the TV industry is looking back this week on the famed sitcom that most broadcast historians contend set the format and standard for the never-ending string of situation comedies.
In fact, Larry W. Jones, executive vice president of cable's TV Land, has referred to Lucy as ``the grandmother of so many other shows in modern production.''
Lucy a TV grandmother? The late Lucille Ball certainly would have something caustic to say about such a reference.
