On an evening as emotional as the one when it first opened to the public ten-and-a-half years ago, Symphony Hall literally unveiled its new pride and joy to a packed Friday night house.
We have waited a long time for this organ, and have responded staggeringly to the appeal to fund it, and as the diaphanous curtains parted to reveal the now splendidly complete organ-case, ranks of pipes standing smartly to attention, we were allowed an extended moment to contemplate the vision.
