Business leaders across the country are emerging as valued partners to guidance counselors who are focused on student career development. Today, the teamwork of parents, business and community citizens working with students and educators is widely acknowledged as critical. From early stages of career awareness through preparation, counselors need the cooperation of many partners to meet the diverse career interests students are exploring. Classroom work alone is insufficient. Businesspersons can provide real-life experiences where the students can test their career interests, skills and work values, while the business entity has a wide opportunity for mutual benefits.
