Oct. 23--I've been watching Andre Agassi, now 31, since he was a youngster hitting balls hour after hour at a tennis camp in Long Boat Key, Fla. I'm proud every time he wins a tournament, especially Grand Slams, and I make up really good excuses when he loses.
Since I've been there figuratively through the good times and the bad, I think now is the time to talk to him about being a parent and balancing his other responsibilities--which include not only tennis but a number of philanthropies, including a charitable foundation and a college preparatory academy.
