TWO doctors sold a slimming drug linked to fits, epilepsy and heart problems without warning of the possible side effects, the General Medical Council was told yesterday.
Dr Sudesh Madan, 52, and her husband, Dr Surendra Raizada, 56, both of Prescot, Merseyside face a series of allegations which could see them being struck off the Medical Register for serious medical misconduct.
A disciplinary committee of the GMC was told Dr Madan, aided by her husband, ran the Look Right Dieting and Slimming clinics from hotels, hairdressers and beauty salons in towns such as Rhyl, Warrington, Blackburn and St Helens.
