Governor Ibrahim Turaki of the Jigawa State of Northern Nigeria issued a statement today from Ground Zero -- the site of the World Trade Towers Complex -- to offer his condolences to the victims and their families of the September 11 terrorist attacks on the United States of America. Governor Turaki is a devout Muslim, and the State of Jigawa has a significant Muslim population.
"Today I express my condolences to the victims of the terrorist attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001. These attacks were not just attacks on the United States, they were an attack on the entire civilized world," said Governor Turaki.
