ABIX via COMTEX) -- Sales of personal computers in Australia have fallen in the September 2001 quarter. According to technology analyst, IDC, sales are down by 20% on the previous corresponding period. IDC expects full-year sales to fall by eight per cent to 2.05 million units, as opposed to the four per cent growth levels previously flagged. During the quarter, Gateway exited the Australian market, while Hewlett-Packard and Compaq announced merger plans.
