The U.S. Senate last night confirmed President Bush's nomination of Patrick J. Fitzgerald (no relation to Senator Peter Fitzgerald) to serve as U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois. The former co-chief of the Organized Crime and Terrorism Section for the Southern District of New York now becomes the new United States Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois.
