Article: U.S. Direct Investment Abroad: Detail for Historical-Cost Position and Related Capital and Income Flows, 2000.(Statistical Data Included)

THE following tables present detailed estimates of the U.S. direct investment position abroad on a historical-cost, or book-value, basis and estimates of the related capital and income flows; summary estimates of services transactions are also presented. These estimates can be used, for example, to see how the geographic and the industrial composition of U.S. companies' investment abroad has changed over time. These estimates supplement the estimates presented in articles in the July 2001 SURVEY OF CURRENT BUSINESS that summarized the developments in the direct investment positions at historical cost in 2000 and the revisions to the international transactions accounts.(1)
