Oct. 25--Worried that it can't accommodate the growth, the city of Woodstock has filed suit against Cherokee County to block construction of as many as 1,500 apartments along the Ga. 92 corridor.
The suit asks the court to declare Cherokee's "village overlay" zoning for the corridor illegal and to order a temporary and permanent halt to construction of any multifamily units. The apartments are proposed in six projects submitted to the fast-growing county's planning department for informal review.
