Dozen Retailers Earn Achievement Awards
The Plaza Hotel's gilded Terrace Room resounded with the applause of gift industry leaders on Aug. 15 as 12 retailers accepted 1989 Gift & Decorative Accessories Merchandising Achievement Awards in New York.
The four Silver and eight Bronze Plaques are distributed for Shop Design, Shop Display/Promotion, Department Design and Department Display/Promotion. The shops and departments are selected by a judging committee headed by G&DA editor/co-publisher Phyllis Sweed, who also presented the Silver Plaque Awards.
