DETROIT _ The other day, Brett Hull got a rare dose of constructive criticism after a Detroit Red Wings practice.
"(Associate coach) Barry Smith gave me grief for not making enough plays offensively," Hull said.
And how long has it been since Hull was told to think more about offense?
"It's been a long, long time," he said.
Old habits die hard, like the defense-first mentality Hull learned for three seasons with the Stars. His former teammates see Hull in a Red Wings uniform for the first time Friday at Joe Louis Arena.
