The prosecution is now expecting the dismissal of the first perjury case filed against former President Estrada after it was barred yesterday by the Sandiganbayan First Division from presenting evidence to prove that the former leader lied in his 1999 Statement of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth (SALN). The division, chaired by Sandiganbayan Presiding Justice Francis Garchitorena, gave the prosecution 15 days within which to close its case by filing a formal offer of evidence.
