Baroness Symons, Minister for International Trade and Investment, today announced a new Trade Partners UK initiative that should help boost trade with developing countries through the use of Countertrade.
Many developing countries find it hard to buy much needed goods or equipment due to lack of foreign exchange. Countertrade covers a wide range of trading mechanisms that involve the two-way flow of goods where no money is exchanged. Barter is the best known example.
