Q: I would love to have the chicken cacciatore recipe from Sweet Basil in downtown Needham. This is a great restaurant that is worth the trip. Thank you. - D.G., Needham
A: We received the following directions from Dave Becker, Sweet Basil's chef-owner. As the restaurant's name suggests, the menu is contemporary Italian; it's open for lunch, dinner and take-out. Port wine and balsamic vinegar give this cacciatore a distinctive flavor.
SWEET BASIL'S CHICKEN CACCIATORE
2 lb. boneless, skinless chicken thighs
Kosher salt and black pepper, to taste
2 T. olive oil
2 medium carrots, diced
