AP--The New England Brewing Co., a microbrewery that began operation 11 years ago, has bottled its last batch of beer for now after being sold by its founders. The microbrewery has been idle for the past month after Dick and Marcia King of Redding, decided to sell the business and the adjoining Brewhouse Restaurant & Tasting Room this summer.
The restaurant continues to thrive. Bob Montanari, who has been general manager at The Brewhouse since 1996, bought the restaurant from the Kings in August.
The brewery remains in the hands of the building's owner, The Spinnaker Cos. of Stamford, which is seeking a new operator.
