Hair care mfrs. strike blow versus diverters
CDR Roundup--Manufacturers of professional hair care products, determined to keep their products in salons, won a major battle in their efforts when a federal court ruled against a retailer in a recently concluded diversion case.
Matrix Essentials, in what has been touted as a landmark decision for the professional hair care industry, won the decision over Pro Beauty Supply last March in a Tampa, Fla., court. Matrix, the Solon, Ohio-based manufacturer of professional hair and skin products, filed diversion charges against Pro Beauty, which operates two retail outlets in the area.
