Nov. 2--Federal prosecutors and Microsoft Corp. negotiators continued last night to work out a planned settlement of the landmark antitrust suit against the software giant -- a deal that still must win support from 18 state attorneys general and is already being lambasted by Microsoft critics as a sellout by the Bush administration.
Microsoft and antitrust prosecutors faced a 9 a.m. deadline today set by the judge now handling the case to reach some settlement agreement.
But it appeared likely the deadline would be extended if a final deal was imminent.
