Nov. 1--An insurance services call center will become the first tenant in the new Mount Hope Industrial Park today. The business will bring 330 jobs to the area, officials said.
Officials from Global Contact Services will sign a contract at an 11 a.m. press conference at Mount Hope City Hall, said Mayor Michael Martin.
"These are jobs that pay $9 to $15 an hour. They will also have a day-care center here. These people are doing it right," said Martin, who doubles as chairman of the board of directors of the Central Appalachia Empowerment Zone.
