AGAINST SOUTH CAROLINA FIRM -- $580,000

ATLANTA, Dec. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Today the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service has served a Notice of Intent to Fine (NIF) in the amount of $580,000 against Piedmont Quilting Corp. of Walhalla, S.C.

This is the largest administrative fine levied since the Immigration and Reform Act (IRCA) was signed into law in 1986. It involves the illegal employment of 85 illegal aliens from Mexico and Peru, of which some were children as young as 12 years of age.
