Nov. 2--SACRAMENTO, Calif.--Gov. Gray Davis on Thursday issued a warning of possible terrorist attacks in the next six days against four major bridges, including the Golden Gate and Bay bridges, but based his dramatic announcement on information federal officials called "unsubstantiated."
In sharp contrast to the governor, who described the threat as "credible," federal officials hastened to stress that it has not been verified and was being treated with less urgency than the threats that led to Monday's nationwide high alert.
