Public health officials and doctors are continuing to grapple with what to do in the event of an anthrax exposure or scare as they learn more about the illness.
"Things are changing by the day," said Dr. Alfred DeMaria of the state Department of Public Health.
"We're learning from experience," he said. "I hope that's what people want us to do. It's based on information as we get it, not on what we thought two weeks ago."
The agency posts new clinical advisories for doctors on its Web site every day.
"We've had a few revised recommendations," he said. "Things get stale."
