Maine Township High School District 207 has formed the area's first Hispanic consortium, bringing together local schools with large numbers of Hispanic students to talk about the common challenges they face.
Suzanne C. Millies, District 207's assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction, said the Maine high schools decided to form a group after researching different groups of students who are struggling academically, and seeing Hispanic youths pop to the top of the list.
