Lee Iacocca didn't get the message.
Don Petersen failed to understand.
Ditto Alex Trotman.
Now Jac "the Knife" Nasser joins the club of Ford Motor Co. executives who didn't read the simple two-word job description when they signed on--"family caretaker."
As president, Iacocca thought he would be king and become the first non-Ford to run the company when Henry Ford II finally decided to retire as chairman.
