Nov. 2--Mike Little stood before his 200-plus employees on Thursday and led them in a rousing cheer. Then he turned, faced the front door and asked his staff, "OK guys. There they are. You ready?" Dozens of blue-shirted workers responded with an enthusiastic "Yes!" and the doors of the new Sam's Club swung open in north Fresno.
Linda Pippig of Clovis was among the first of the hundreds of customers who swarmed through the door. Pippig had arrived at 6:40 a.m. to claim her spot at the head of the line.
