The Anti-Fraud Compliance Division, a section of the Pennsylvania Insurance Department, has recently received a two-year Pennsylvania Insurance Fraud Prevention Authority grant totaling more than $350,000, which will enable the division's efforts to fight fraud through education and the facilitation of shared information among insurers.
The division was created in 1998, through a similar grant, with the intended purpose to "identify and facilitate the adoption by all Pennsylvania insurers of practices that will increase the prevention, detection, investigation, and referral to law enforcement of fraudulent insurance acts."
