ORLANDO, FLA. -- Liposuction is emerging as a very promising new approach to breast reduction, Dr. Christopher Zachary said at a meeting on cosmetic dermatology sponsored by the Skin Disease Education Foundation.
Early reports suggest that by using liposuction rather than the standard excisional approach, breast reduction patients have far less pain, down time, infection risk, and scarring, said Dr. Zachary of the University of California, San Francisco.
Patients generally return to work within 2-4 days, rather than 4-5 weeks.
