The date was September 14, 2000. Sixty people gathered around conference rooms and computer monitors in over 20 different locations anxiously awaiting what marked the beginning of a new era in educational programs for coatings technology. This day was the inception of FSCT's Virtual Learning Conferences (VLC). The attendees logged onto the assigned Web address, as their introductory slide to a presentation on EIS Spectroscopy appeared on the screen along with a smiling picture of the presenter, Ed Oliver.
