LOS ANGELES, Aug. 14 (AScribe News) -- Urban researchers from around the nation will gather in Anaheim Aug. 18-20 to debate the claims of the so-called Los Angeles School of urban theory during the annual meeting of the American Sociological Association.
Heading the attack on the "L.A. School" will be adherents of the "Chicago School," whose precepts have dominated urban studies since 1925, said Michael J. Dear, a geography professor and director of University of Southern California's Southern California Studies Center.
