WASHINGTON, Aug. 30 (AScribe News) -- Washington-based Public Education Network (PEN), a network of community-based organizations working for school reform in low-income urban and rural areas, has launched a pioneering effort to increase citizen demand for quality public education for all students.
PEN has awarded $2.525 million in grants to five local education funds (LEF) in Durham, N.C.; McKeesport, Pa.; Mobile, Ala.; Paterson, N.J.; and Portland, Ore..
