Nov. 7--BURBANK, Calif.--Universal has the "Jurassic Park" series, Fox the "Star Wars" films and Paramount holds claim to the box office leader of them all: "Titanic." A week from Friday, Warner Bros. is counting on launching an all-time blockbuster of its own when "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" opens in theaters nationwide.
The studio is depending on the magical adventures of a bespectacled 11-year-old boy to restore its former box office luster, diminished since the glory days of its enduring "Batman" and "Lethal Weapon" movie franchises from the 1980s and ...
