DALLAS _ Ralph Rucci exists outside the hype and glitz of fashion. His clothes don't show up on Vogue covers. Hollywood starlets don't flaunt his label on the red carpet. And that's the way he likes it.
In fact, when Rucci was in Dallas recently to show his spring collection at Neiman Marcus downtown, he heard that Jane Goodall had been in Dallas. "I told Vivian (Van Natta, his managing director), `We have to send clothes to Jane Goodall.' Do you know what she's done? That is the kind of woman I want wearing my clothes. Maya Angelou. Oprah _ she does wear my clothes, and she's wonderful."
