Minnesota's child-support system, which serves more than 270,000 children, is likely to undergo a major shakeup in the next legislative session, legislators said at a hearing Wednesday.

And if state child-support officials have their way, that new system would base support on the incomes of both parents instead of just the noncustodial parent.
