Nov. 9--CARLSTADT, N.J.--A developer seeking to build a mega-mall in the Meadowlands will take local residents to Maryland on a shopping trip.
Mills Corp., which has been criticized by environmentalists for its New Jersey proposal, is sponsoring a free bus trip Saturday to Arundel Mills, Maryland's largest mall.
"It's a way for local people to see the product that we deliver and for folks to go shopping for the holiday season," said Mills spokesman David D'Onofrio.
Local reaction ranged from enthusiasm to cynicism.
