The Korean Investment Fund, Inc. (NYSE: KIF) (the "Fund"), a closed-end U.S.-registered management investment company advised by Alliance Capital Management L.P., with assets of $46,903,410 as of November 2, 2001, announced today the following schedule for its conversion from a closed-end fund to an open-end fund (the "Conversion"). The Conversion was approved by the Fund's stockholders at the reconvened Annual Meeting of Stockholders on September 14, 2001.
