The city that never sleeps has insomnia.
The attack on the World Trade Center, reports of anthrax cases and government warnings about new terrorist activity are keeping New Yorkers up at night. New prescriptions for sleeping aids soared more than 30% in New York City between Sept. 7 and Oct. 19, causing experts to worry that a sleeplessness is turning into a more chronic problem for thousands of New Yorkers.
Securities trader Paul Wolweck is one of the sleep-deprived.
