"The Sound of Music" might be considered a perfect story: utterly romantic true love, the triumph of good over evil, and the deep devotion of family. What's more, with its classic Rodgers and Hammerstein score, it has some of the best Broadway songs ever written.
The Syracuse Civic Theatre production, directed by Bill Coughlin with musical direction by Shayne Knight, lives up to the stature of this play in nearly every aspect.
