Vince Chowdhury will rejoin the Jefferson County School Board after losing his seat two years ago, and he'll start his term by offering the board some excellent advice: Drop the unproductive and unpopular attempt to impose restrictions on commemorative tiles mounted on the walls of Columbine High School.
Good for him. We hope he can persuade other board members that the time has come to rein in Superintendent Jane Hammond, whose stubbornness has prolonged the dispute.
Believe it or not, the board has never debated and taken an official stand on the painted-tile legislation. It has simply delegated the decision to the superintendent.
