Dear Editor: As a parent of two Madison schoolchildren, I must say that the controversy over the Pledge of Allegiance causes me to wonder about the sanity of those involved.
With sound knowledge about our pluralistic community, the School Board, in its wisdom, made the right decision the first time. That the board succumbed to the squeakier wheel is its business.
But why isn't this "win" satisfactory to Bill Geist and Scott Klug? Are they unaware that they are challenging everyone's constitutional right to free speech? This country is based on ideals set forth hundreds of years ago, and the right to dissent is one ...
