ST. LOUIS _ The theory that NFL parity is at an all-time high was put to rest Sunday.
Yeah, maybe there is a bit of a logjam in the middle of the league. But the gap between the top and bottom teams is as wide as the distance between St. Louis and Charlotte.
That point was established as the Carolina Panthers suffered one of the worst defeats in franchise history, a 48-14 loss to the St. Louis Rams in the Dome at America's Center. The score was 31-0 in the second quarter as the Panthers (1-8) lost for the eighth consecutive time, a franchise record.
