The Vergil of Things
AN IMPORTANT exhibition consisting of selections from the work of Varujan Boghosian will be on display this fall at the Currier Gallery in Manchester, New Hampshire. I viewed the exhibition in an earlier showing at the Hood Museum, a handsome and commodious new building on the campus of Dartmouth College.
Mr. Boghosian works in a variety of media, but his preoccupation for a quarter-century has been the construction, three-dimensional compositions that employ a wide variety of materials. The initial, powerful impression one received at the Hood was of the variety of textures--especially of different old woods.
