BLOOMINGTON, Ind., Nov. 12 (AScribe News) -- Indiana University, which recently acquired the nation's largest and fastest university-owned supercomputer, has just placed 50th on the current list of the world's 500 most powerful supercomputers (http://www.top500.org/).
IU's new ranking will be announced at the annual IEEE/ACM Supercomputing2001 conference being held this week in Denver, Colo. IU is demonstrating an array of new, advanced information technology applications in the "Research@Indiana 2001" display as part of the conference.
