Merwin H. Dick, 1906-1989 Merwin H. Dick, who retired 10 years ago as engineering editor of Railway Age and as editor and publisher of Railway Track & Structures, died Aug. 12 in Oak Park, Ill., just seven days short of his 83rd birthday.
Mr. Dick came to work for the Simmons-Boardman Publishing Corp. in 1929, about a year after he was graduated from Kansas University with a degree in civil engineering. He had worked briefly for the Santa Fe Railway as chainman and rodman.
Among many other honors which he earned during a long and distinguished career, Mr. Dick held the Jesse H. Neal Award for Reporting, the highest professional distinction available to ...
