Gas turbine engines work well ... given the right mission,
Gas turbine engines sound like a great idea," one passenger-ferry operator says, "but I wouldn't want one in any of my boats. Gasoline is just too much of a fire hazard."
The boat owner obviously doesn't understand that the word "gas" in relation to turbine engines refers only to the gaseous state of the compressed air and diesel fuel mixture that is continuously burned in a turbine engine's combustion chamber and then forced through the turbine's blades.
