THE SELMER COMPANY completed the third year of its "Selmer University" this summer. Two separate three-day sessions were held in Elkhart, Indiana, where Selmer is headquartered. Each session was jam-packed with seminars, plant tours, and other information.
All of the information dispersed during Selmer University served the purpose of better educating and better preparing those about to enter the "real world" of music education. Taking place at the Ramada Inn in Elkhart, the curriculum included music advocacy, recruiting and retention, dealing with school administration, developing leadership within an ensemble, and how to select a music dealer.
