IN order to retain full properties, and achieve design tolerances and a smooth finish with continuous strand DMC, gentle processing is required to avoid damage to the fibres. Battenfeld Berges says its BDS machines with Unilog control are designed with this in mind, and incorporate such features as special feedthroat design, stuffing unit pressure control, deep-flighted compression-less screw with non-return valve, and temperature-controlled nozzle.
Clamp forces available range from 800 to 10,000 kN, and Mouldfix high-speed mould changing and clamping systems together with demoulding robots enable the building of complete special processing units. Special ...
