A drop in gas and oil prices has given the carbon black industry a spark of new life.
But producers still aren't completely out of the doldrums that have plagued the industry for more than a year. For that to happen, the tire and automotive industries need to rebound from their own slide, according to Vince Guercio, president of Montclair, N.J.-based CTC International, and other industry insiders.
