Reorganization Of MAP/TOP
The MAP/TOP users group--the organization that has brought the universal Manufacturing Automation Protocol (MAP), Technical and Office Protocol (TOP) and local area network (LAN) standards into use--has undergone some major organizational changes in the past year. The reason for these changes is to provide an organization with a full-time staff which can accelerate and better manage the development of MAP/TOP.
As a technical organization, the U.S. MAP/TOP users group had been sponsored by the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) who served as secretariat since 1985.
